Defender Alessandro Bastoni is now back in full training, but is unlikely to start in tomorrow’s Serie A clash between Inter Milan and Udinese.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Yestedray, 24-year-old Italian international Bastoni made his return to training with the rest of the Inter squad.

Bastoni had been out with a calf injury for around three weeks. He had picked up the problem whilst with Italy during the international break.

Bastoni’s injury had caused him to miss both of the Azzurri’s matches during the break.

Then, the 24-year-old was also out for Inter’s three most recent matches since the return from the international break.

Bastoni played no part in Serie A matches against Juventus and Nalpoli. Nor was he involved away to Benfica in the Champions League.

But now Bastoni is back. The defender can be part of Inter’s squad for tomorrow’s league match against Udinese.

Alessandro Bastoni Back In Training – But Unlikely To Start Inter Vs Udinese Clash

Bastoni is not likely to start in tomorrow evening’s match, however, reports the Gazzetta.

The former Parma and Atalanta defender has only had a couple days worth of training for the match.

Therefore, there are still doubts regarding exactly what sort of condition Bastoni will be in for the Serie A clash.

Moreover, there are a couple more important matches on the way in the space of just a week.

Inter face Real Sociedad in the Champions League on Tuesday evening. That match will essentially be a playoff for top spot in the group.

Then there’s next weekend’s Serie A match away to last season’s runners-up Lazio.

With the fixture list looking the way it does, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will aim to be careful with how he uses Bastoni.

Therefore, the Italian will not likely start tomorrow.

But Bastoni will be available to play a part from the bench. Certainly welcome news for Inter considering the team’s ongoing injury crisis in defense.
