Swiss referee Sandro Scharer has been appointed to be in charge of Tuesday’s Champions League match between Inter Milan and Real Sociedad.

UEFA confirm the complete list of match officials for the group stage match, via FCInterNews. Fedayi San will be on VAR duty.

On Tuesday, Inter will play their final group stage match in this season’s Champions League.

The Nerazzurri will host Real Sociedad at the San Siro for the match.

Inter do not need to win in order to move on to the round of sixteen. Neither to La Real.

Both teams have already booked their place in the knockouts with a couple matches to spare.

But that is not to say that there is nothing at stake on Tuesday evening. Far from it.

Inter and La Real are essentially facing off in a straight playoff for top spot in their group.

Both the Nerazzurri and La Real are currently on thirteen points. The pair drew in San Sebastian in their group stage opener, and then have won all of their matches since then.

Therefore, tomorrow’s result will have big implications as far as which of the two teams qualifies for the knockout rounds top of the group.

Beyond bragging rights, this would also increase the probability of drawing a weaker team in the next round.
