Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi doesn’t see the impressive performance of Yann Bisseck against Udinese as the least bit surprising.

The coach spoke to InterTV after the Nerazzurri’s Serie A win over the Friulani yesterday evening, via FCInterNews.

Bisseck made his first ever Serie A start yesterday evening.

The German had already made a couple of starts in the Champions League. And he had also received a few cameo appearances in the league already.

But by and large, it has been the more senior defenders who have started in Serie A so far.

But it was needs must for Inter and Inzaghi in defense yesterday.

The absences of all of Stefan de Vrij, Benjamin Pavard, and Denzel Dumfries due to injury forced the coach’s hand in terms of his selection.

Therefore, Inzaghi decided to go with Bisseck from the start.

Given this, there may have been one or two worries that the 23-year-old would not quite be ready.

But that’s not how it looked on the pitch. The former Aarhus defender put in an accomplished display, showing that even while he hasn’t been playing much, he has been learning to fit into Inzaghi’s system in training.

Inzaghi: Not Surprised By Good Performance From Yann Bisseck Vs Udinese

Inzaghi said of Bisseck that “He was very good. But I’m not surprised.”

“I see him in training every day,” the coach noted.

“He’s lucky to train with very good players who give him a lot of training.”

Of the win over Udinese, Inzaghi said that “After scoring the first goal, the guys loosened up a bit.”

“It was a great win to send a message,” the Inter coach continued.

And Inzaghi also gave his thoughts ahead of this week’s Champions League match against Real Sociead.

“We look at one match at a time,” the Inter coach said.

“We know that we have another big match on Tuesday,” he added. “And we’ll try to prepare for it in the best possible way.”
