Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi is determined to see his team top their Champions League group against Real Sociedad tomorrow.

The coach spoke to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews, ahead of the clash.

Inter face off against Real Sociedad in their final Champions League group stage match for the season tomorrow evening.

A result is not a necessity for either side. Both Inter and La Real have already secured their spot in the Champions League round of sixteen.

However, with the two teams level on points, tomorrow’s match is more or less a straight playoff for top spot in the group.

Therefore, there will be at least a certain feeling of pressure.

Even without qualification for the round of sixteen at stake, the team will still want the boost in confidence that comes from finishing top of their group against tough opposition like La Real.

And then the proposition of potentially getting an easy draw in the next round would certainly be a significant incentive.

Inter Coach Inzaghi: Want Top Spot In Champions League Group

Inter coach Inzaghi said that “It would be very important to get a more favourable draw.”

“And it would also matter for the prestige of the,” he noted.

“We were lucky enough to qualify for the knockouts with two matches to spare. And now we want to top the group.”

And as far as squad rotation, Inzaghi made clear that “I’ll make some changes.”

“I still have to see how things are looking after today’s training session.”

“But one thing that’s clear is that I’ll make changes,” he continued. “However, just as clear, it will be the same Inter no matter what.”

And regarding Inter’s relationship with their fans, Inzaghi said that “I’m happy with what we’re all doing together for Inter.”

“There’s a great synergy with the fans,” he noted. “But not just in these last few months.”

“In these last two and a half years we’ve rejoiced, sometimes suffered some disappointments together, but we’ve always had a wonderful relationship,” he said of the team and the fans.
