Defender Benjamin Pavard will be fit for this weekend’s Serie A match between Lazio and Inter Milan.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. The Gazzetta reports that Pavard is now making his full return to training.
Pavard is now back in full training.
Yesterday, the 27-year-old former Bayern Munich and Stuttgart made a partial return to training.
Pavard was not able to train at full intensity for the entire session along with the rest of his teammates.
And in today’s session, the Frenchman will still not make a full return to training.
But this is standard for a player coming back from an injury of the kind that Pavard has been recovering from.
The defender’s knee injury is now fully healed. He has been working on his individual fitness program for the past couple weeks after having been able to remove a protective knee brace.
And now Pavard is back to being able to train as normal.
Benjamin Pavard Will Be Fit For Lazio Vs Inter Clash
Inter still have a few more days left to prepare for Sunday’s match against Lazio.
That is plenty of time for Pavard to get back up to speed.
As early as tomorrow, the former Bayern defender could be training as normal with the rest of his teammates.
Therefore, there is virtually no doubt that Pavard will be fit enough to be part of the squad for Sunday’s trip to the Italian capital to take on the Biancocelesti.
The big question could concern whether Pavard starts or is on the bench initially.
Pavard’s return will certainly be a welcome one for Inter coach Simone Inzaghi.
The Frenchman has been on the sidelines for more than a month. He had picked up his injury in a Serie A clash with Atalanta at the start of November.
But now, Pavard is on the verge of returning, and Inter’s injury crisis is easing up.
