Inter Milan are weighing up a move to sign Man United striker Anthony Martial on a free transfer next summer.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews. The outlet reports that a prospective move for the Frenchman would depend on wage and agent commission demands.

28-year-old former Monaco striker Martial is set to leave Manchester United at the end of the current season.

The Red Devils have made the decision that they will not trigger an option to automatically extend the Frenchman’s contract.

Therefore, Martial will be free to join a new club at the end of next June.

The Frenchman joined United in the summer of 2015. He has made over three hundred appearances and scored ninety goals for the Red Devils across all competitions.

But the broad sense is that Martial has never quite lived up to his potential at Old Trafford.

Inter Considering A Move For Man United Striker Anthony Martial

Martial will likely have no shortage of suitors during the summer.

Even though the 28-year-old has never fully convinced in a United shirt, his quality is undeniable.

One team who have a longstanding interest in Martial is Inter.

The Frenchman has long been a player who Nerazzurri Sporting Director Piero Ausilio rates highly.

Ausilio has been an admirer of Martial since his time in Ligue 1.

Inter did not sign Martial in 2015, due to not competing with the massive fee that United paid to bring the then-teenager in.

But the interest had already been there.

And that interest has never really gone away.

Ausilio continues to see Martial as a potential target.

And FCIN report that, with the 28-year-old available for free next summer, the Nerazzurri would seriously consider him.

There is no doubt that Inter will have to make an attacking signing or two next summer. The unconvincing performances of Alexis Sanchez and Marko Arnautovic ensure this.

But the big question could be of the finances in a deal. Even though there would be no transfer fee necessary to sign Martial, the player’s wage demands as well as agent commissions could play a key role.

In addition to making over three hundred appearances for United, Martial has also received thirty caps for the French national team.

The 28-year-old’s most recent appearances for Les Bleus were in 2021.
