Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio tips Inter Milan to bolster their ranks in January as Juan Cuadrado continues to struggle with an injury.

The Colombian has only been able to make nine appearances across all competitions since joining the club on a free transfer in the summer.

The 35-year-old earned his first start of the season in Wednesday’s Champions League clash against Real Sociedad.

However, the former Juventus star is once again suffering from an inflammation in the Achilles tendon. This issue has been plaguing the veteran since September.

Therefore, Di Marzio expects the management to resort to the transfer market in January.

Gianluca Di Marzio Reveals Inter Milan’s January Solutions To Replace Juan Cuadrado

The Mercato expert reveals that Cuadrado is trying his best to overcome this issue and help his teammates on the pitch, especially with Denzel Dumfries out of action.

However, surgery appears inevitable at this point. This would see the wingback miss several months of action, raising the need for a new addition.

“There is a need arising from the injury of Cuadrado who is gritting his teeth to help Inzaghi before a necessary operation,” explains Di Marzio during his appearance on Sky Sport Italia via FcInter1908.

“He will be out for a few months after the operation. So on the right flank, there would only be Dumfries or Darmian.”

Therefore, the transfer market guru believes the Nerazzurri will either sign a player on loan or advance their summer plans for a soon-to-be free agent.

“The concrete possibility is that they intervene at limited costs with a loan or anticipate a possible coup that they were thinking of making in June for free.

“There aren’t many opportunities on the market, but Inter needs to sign a player. They are already moving.”
