Inter Milan are reportedly looking to pounce on the lack of playing of Tajon Buchanan to pull off a January switch.

the Nerazzurri have lost the services of Juan Cuadrado who will now undergo surgery that will rule him out for several months.

The Serie A leaders signed the Colombian in the summer as a back-up for Denzel Dumfries on the right wing. However, an Achilles tendon inflammation has been haunting his campaign since September.

So with the 35-year-old out of service, Inter have rekindled their interest in Tajon Buchanan.

The 24-year-old is a right winger who currently plies his trade at Club Brugge.

However, the Canada international hasn’t been a regular starter at the Belgian club.

So as Tuttosport (via FcInterNews) explains, the player’s lack of playing could be the opening that Inter needs to sway him over.

Buchanan has made 20 appearances across all competitions this season. He scored three goals and provided his teammates with four assists.

However, the Turin-based newspaper notes that the Canadian has been on the bench in recent outings.

Inter Milan Looking To Pounce On The Lack Of Minutes Of Tajon Buchanan To Sign Him In January

The source claims that Inter are aiming for an operation similar to the one that saw them signing Robin Gosens from Atalanta in January 2022.

At the time, the German still had 18 months left on his contract. Buchanan finds himself in a similar situation. His deal runs out in 2025.

The Nerazzurri will thus try to secure an initial loan deal that includes an obligation to buy at the end of the season.

The Canada international can operate in various roles on the right flank. He’s originally a winger but has featured as a fullback this season.
