Wingback Carlos Augusto feels that Inter Milan can’t let their Coppa Italia loss to Bologna get them down with other objectives left to fight for.

The Brazilian spoke to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia after the round of sixteen, via FCInterNews.

Inter will not have the chance to try and defend their Coppa Italia crown from the last two seasons.

The Nerazzurri went to extra time in the round of sixteen like in each of the past two seasons, as they had done against the likes of Empoli and Parma.

And as with both of those matches, Inter went ahead. It was wingback Carlos Augusto who gave the Nerazzurri the lead this time around, echoing goals from Andrea Ranocchia and Francesco Acerbi.

But this time around, Inter were not able to hold onto their advantage.

Bologna responded with two goals, and will be going onto the quarterfinals of the competition at the Nerazzurri’s expense.

This will certainly leave a bitter taste in Inter’s mouth.

But at the same time, there is not much time to sit and dwell on this disappointing defeat.

Inter are already back in action in a couple of days’ time. The Nerazzurri host Lecce in Serie A, where they will be aiming to consolidate or even increase their four-point advantage at the top of the table over rivals Juventus.

Carlos Augugusto: Inter Not Letting Coppa Italia Loss To Bologna Get Them Down

“I’m happy to have scored,” <iframe width=”560″ height=”315″ src=”https://www.youtube.com/embed/6enH6vU-3m8?si=tluMPczaR78Vqhgh” title=”YouTube video player” frameborder=”0″ allow=”accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share” allowfullscreen></iframe> said after the match.

“But the team winning matters more.”

“We had several opportunities that we could have taken advantage of better,” he continued.

“They took advantage of the ones they had.”

The Brazilian lamented that “Football is like that. We can’t keep our heads down.”

“The season is long, I’m there other objectives left to fight for.”

“Now let’s move on with the league and the Champions League.”
