Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski has reportedly rejected the approach of AS Roma in favor of joining Inter Milan.

The 29-year-old has been plying his trade at the Stadio Maradona since 2016. However, his current deal with the club will run out at the end of the season.

According to La Repubblica via FcInter1908, the Polish star has chosen the Nerazzurri over other proposals.

The Beneamata will be able to land the former Udinese and Empoli man for free in June.

As the source explains, Zielinski and Napoli have been negotiating a renewal for months. However, the distance between the player’s request and the club’s offer remains significant.

Therefore, the Pole is now ready to embark on a new adventure.

The report also adds that Roma have tried to lunge in and lure the player to the Italian capital.

However, Zielinski has reportedly made up his mind, denying the Giallorossi’s proposal in favor of Inter’s.

Piotr Zielinski Chooses Inter Milan’s Offer Over Napoli & As Roma

The Nerazzurri have become notorious for poaching some of the most sought-after free agents on the market in recent years. The list includes the likes of Marcus Thuram and Hakan Calhanoglu.

Despite having a solid midfield department, Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio are seemingly looking to present Simone Inzaghi with a new quality midfielder.

This season, Zielinski has thus far contributed with two goals and as many assists in 15 Serie A appearances. He also has a strike and an assist to his name in six Champions League outings.
