Former Inter Milan owner Massimo Moratti reckons the strength of the club’s current squad, admitting similarities to his treble-winning side.
The former patron was at the club’s helm during the unforgettable 2009/10 campaign. The Nerazzurri achieved an unprecedented feat in Italian football by winning the Scudetto, the Coppa Italia and the Champions League in a single season.
The 78-year-old had to sell the club due to financial difficulties in 2013. However, he remains a staunch supporter of the Beneamata.
But while he admits that the current Inter team is a strong one, he insists that Jose Mourinho’s treble-winning squad was exceptional.
“Is this Inter stronger than Mourinho’s team? I will never say yes!” laughed Moratti in his interview with Calcioinpillole.com via FcInterNews.
“The treble was something remarkable. However, I must admit that this Inter is very strong. They come very close.
“Today’s team doesn’t have any weak points. But my team in 2010 was genuinely special, especially when considering the individuals.”

The legendary Nerazzurri president also touched on the values that the club holds dear.
“I believe that everyone transmits their own character, whether they want it or not. So this is how Inter’s values have risen.
“From the provocation that you perhaps make on certain issues that are underestimated, to some statements that seem courageous but which are useful for tackling problems.
“Personally, I always believe that respecting people is a must, at all levels and in all manners.
“I think these values are also implanted in the characters of Inter supporters. However, football evolves and new values can arise.
