Inter Milan’s chase of Matt O’Riley has reportedly hit a brick wall with the player hellbent on staying at Celtic.

In recent days, reports from the United Kingdom claimed the Nerazzurri had entered the fray for the up-and-coming star.

However, emerging news has now ruled out an immediate exit.

According to the Daily Record via FcInterNews, O’Riley is happy to stay at Celtic Park for the time being.

The midfielder is well aware of the rising interest in his services. Yet, he decided to pledge his loyalty to the Glasgow-based club.

Moreover, Celtic are eager to maintain their squad intact for the remainder of the season as they compete against their arch-rivals Glasgow Rangers for the Scottish throne. This includes O’Riley who has cemented himself as a key component in the middle of the park.

The 23-year-old has contributed with nine goals and eight assists this season. This is an incredibly impressive tally for a central midfielder, especially as we’re yet to reach the midpoint of the season.

Blow For Inter Milan As Matt O’Riley Is Looking To Stay At Celtic

O’Riley is a London native and represented the English national team at U16 and U18 levels. Yet, he decided to switch his international allegiance recently, siding with the Danes.

The rising star made his senior debut for Denmark in the most recent international break.

The young man started his playing career at Fulham, but Celtic snapped up his services in January 2022 following a spell at MK Dons.

O’Riley’s contract with the Scottish side runs until the summer of 2027.
