Striker Marko Arnautovic has been named as Inter Milan’s best performer in yesterday evening’s Serie A draw with Genoa.

Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, give the Austrian a 7/10 score in the player ratings for the match.

Inter did not get the result they wanted from their trip to Liguria yesterday evening.

The Nerazzurri had to settle for a point after Genoa defender Radu Dragusin cancelled out an Arnautovic goal.

But for the 34-year-old striker, it was nevertheless a fairly positive match.

Arnautovic naturally acted as the physical focal point of Inter’s attack. And in this respect, the former West Ham United, Stoke City, and Bologna veteran was fairly effective.

Marko Arnautovic Named As Best Inter Player In Serie A Draw Vs Genoa

In some respects, yesterday’s match suited Arnautovic.

The Austrian had a real battle on his hands with the Genoa defenders, particularly Dragusin.

And the veteran striker was able to get his team up the pitch and keep hold of the ball fairly frequently, using his physical strength and balance to protect the ball in the final third.

Arnautovic won a couple useful fouls. And the 34-year-old also showed some real quality, particularly with a ball that nearly found Henrikh Mkhitaryan through on goal early in the first half.

Arnautovic capped off his performance with a goal.

A goal in Serie A with Inter was a long time coming for the Austrian.

And Arnautovic’s effort, whilst an easy finish, showed great alertness to beat Dragusin to the ball after it rebounded from the post.

The Inter striker did everything he had to do on the evening.

However, on the other hand, one Inter player in particular received a very middling grade.

The Corriere gave wingback Carlos Augusto a 5/10 score.

The Brazilian international was not able to impact the game much going forward, due to some imprecise play.

And then it was Augusto who Dragusin bullied on a corner to head home Genoa’s equalizer.
