Wingback Federico Dimarco has extended his contract with Inter Milan until the end of June 2027.

The club confirmed the new five-year deal for the 26-year-old in an official statement.

Dimarco has become a key pillar of Inter’s starting eleven over the past couple of seasons.

The Italian international’s left foot has produced assists, excellent deliveries into the box, no shortage of creative passes including spectacular long diagonal balls, and even a few goals.

DImarco’s journey at Inter has been something of a long and winding one.

The Inter academy product played for the likes of Ascoli, Empoli, Sion, Parma, and Hellas Verona.

It was at the Gialloblu in particular that Dimarco really started to show that he could have what it takes to find a place at Inter.

In the summer of 2021, Dimarco became part of the Nerazzurri’s senior squad.

And he has not looked back from then on.

Dimarco was something of a utility player during the 2021-22 season rather than a regular starter.

He backed up Ivan Perisic on the left flank, and Alessandro Bastoni in defense.

But last season, Dimarco became the permanent heir to Perisic.

Federico Dimarco Extends Inter Contract Until End Of June 2027

Dimarco was one of Inter’s outstanding players as they Nerazzurri reached last season’s Champions League final.

And this campaign, it has been more of the same from the Italian international.

Therefore, it is hardly a surprise that Inter were keen to extend Dimarco’s contract.

The Italian’s previous deal ran until the end of June 2026, so there was no rush. But Inter wanted to send a clear message.

Dimarco has committed his future, so it is “hands off” for other clubs across Europe.

And Inter have rewarded the wingback with a substantial pay increase to around €4 million net per season, by widespread reports.

Dimarco has already made 113 appearances for Inter. And that amount could increase significantly over the coming years.
