Barcelona are out of the race to sign Inter Milan-linked midfielder Lucas Bergavll from Djurgardens this summer.

This according to Spanish outlet AS, via FCInterNews. The outlet reports that the Blaugranas consider a deal for the Swede financially out of reach.

Teenage midfielder Bergvall has emerged as a standout player in his age bracket in Europe in recent months.

Turning eighteen in February of next year, the Swede has already taken significant steps within senior football for Djurgardens.

Bergvall has also starred for the Swedish national team at youth team level. He currently plays for the Under-21 side.

The Corriere notes that Bergvall has already been named as one of the top eleven under-twenty talents in Europe.

The teenage midfielder possesses a combination of height, strength, and technical quality on the ball that has made him adept in the midfield battle despite his relatively young age.

A key strength of Bergvall’s is his tendency to pick his head up and make decisive passes and runs on the counterattack.

Barcelona Out Of The Race To Sign Inter Target Lucas Bergvall

Not very surprisingly, Bergvall’s form has attracted a fair bit of transfer interest.

This has come from some of Europe’s biggest names, the Gazetta note.

Inter have been tracking Bergvall for a number of months. The Nerazzurri see the Swede as a major option for their future of their midfield.

But the Nerazzurri are not the only admirers the 17-year-old has in Europe. Not by far.

AS note that Udinese had already made Djurgardens an offer of around €5 million for Bergvall’s signature.

But Djurgardens summarily rejected it.

The Swedish club are reportedly aiming to bring in around €15 million to sell their young star midfielder this summer.

And Barcelona do not see a deal for Bergvall as being worth it at that price.

The Catalan giants have financial restrictions to consider. So they will not try and sign the young Swede.
