Juventus are reportedly making concrete attempts to thwart Inter Milan’s plans of signing Tiago Djalo.

The Nerazzurri have been on the player’s trails for quite some time now. They reportedly have an agreement in principle with his entourage over a summer transfer.

The defender’s contract with Lille will expire at the end of the season. Therefore, he would be free to join Simone Inzaghi’s court on a free transfer in June.

But according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Juventus are looking to hijack the operation.

The transfer market guru claims there have been important developments on this front in recent hours.

Even though Inter were the first to make a concrete attempt to sign the Portuguese, the Bianconeri are now on the move.

The Turin-based giants will be looking to place themselves ahead of their arch-rivals by striking a deal with Lille.

The Ligue 1 side would prefer to sell the player in January rather than lose his services for free at the end of the season.

Nevertheless, Di Marzio believes it remains an open race at the moment.

But in the next few days, the situation could become clearer, as we may be able to understand whether or not Juventus have managed to make a breakthrough on this particular front.

It certainly wouldn’t be the first time the Bianconeri usurped the Nerazzurri for a defender’s signature in recent years. The Gleison Bremer transfer saga remains fresh in the memory.

Inter Milan Risk Missing Out On Tiago Djalo With Juventus Looking To Sign Him In January

Djalo is a youth product of Sporting Lisbon who made the switch to Lille in 2019 following a brief spell with AC Milan’s Primavera squad.

The 23-year-old established himself as one of the best up-and-coming defenders in Ligue 1.

However, an ACL injury derailed his progress, as he’s been out of action since March.
