Inter Milan goalkeeper Yann Sommer has broken his personal record in terms of saves percentage thus far this season.

The 35-year-old joined the Nerazzurri in the summer as a replacement for Andre Onana who completed a mega-money switch to Manchester United.

Afterwards, the Swiss rapidly proved his worth at the Giuseppe Meazza, and as a report in the Italian media puts it, he has never been any better.

According to FcInterNews, Sommer has now set a new personal record after saving 84% of the shots on target in Serie A thus far this season.

Despite receiving some criticism for failing to prevent Radu Dragusin’s equalizer in his most recent outing against Genoa, the custodian has been enjoying a fine maiden campaign at Inter.

The experienced goalkeeper has only conceded eight goals in Serie A this season. He registered a whopping 12 clean sheets from his first 18 league appearances.

Sommer has also three clean sheets to his name from five Champions League outings, conceding only twice in Europe this term.

The Switzerland international started his career at Basel before making the switch to Borussia Monchengladbach in 2014.

Following a long stint with the Bundesliga side, he signed for Bayern Munich last January as a replacement for the injured Manuel Neuer.

However, Sommer realized that he would be reduced to a mere backup once the German legend regained his match fitness.

Therefore, he was hellbent on making the move to Inter when the opportunity presented itself in the summer.

The goalkeeper’s contract with the Nerazzurri runs until June 2026.
