Inter Milan have completed the signing of Canadian international winger Tajon Buchanan from Club Brugge.

The Nerazzurri confirmed the 24-year-old’s arrival in an official announcement. Buchanan has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal until the end of June 2028.

Buchanan has been a player on Inter’s radar for some time.

The Nerazzurri have been scouting the Canadian since at least the World Cup in Qatar last winter, when he had been one of the standout players for his national team.

But now, Inter have decided to make their move for Buchanan. He completed a permanent transfer

The 24-year-old becomes the Nerazzurri’s first signing of the January transfer window.

Inter have gotten Buchanan’s signing done early in the month. The former New England Revolution man could be part of the squad as early as this weekend’s Serie A match against Hellas Verona.

Inter pushed to sign Buchanan as a mid-season reinforcement on the right flank.

This was due to Juan Cuadrado requiring calf surgery. The Colombian will miss several months of action whilst he recovers.

Meanwhile, Denzel Dumfries has also had some fitness issues of his own.

Therefore, Inter have prioritized a new player for the right flank. And Buchanan is the profile they’ve identified as a perfect addition.

Inter Complete Signing Of Tajon Buchanan From Club Brugge

Buchanan has been in European football for right around two years.

The Canadian had initially come through the US academy and then university system.

Buchanan joined Major League Soccer side New England Revolution in 2019.

Then after the Canadian had starred in MLS, Revolution sold him to Brugge in the summer of 2021.

For the second half of 2021, Buchanan remained at Revolution on loan from Brugge.

In January of 2022, the Canadian made his debut for Brugge.

The Canadian has since made a total of 67 appearances for Brugge. These have come in the Belgian top flight and domestic cups as well as the Champions League and Europa Conference League.

Buchanan has scored five goals for Brugge.

Meanwhile, Buchanan has also made a total of 35 appearances for the Canadian national team already. He has scored four goals for them.
