Inter Milan midfielder Lucien Agoume has completed his medical on a loan move to Sevilla

This according to Spanish, Andalusia-based broadcaster Canal Sur, via FCInterNews. The broadcaster report that the 22-year-old will join the La Liga side on loan with a purchase option and a buyback clause to Inter.

Agoume is now right on the edge of becoming a Sevilla player for the rest of the season.

It’s been a story with quite a few twists and turns for the Frenchman at the Nerazzurri.

Agoume has gone out on three loan spells already since his move to Inter.

The France Under-21 international spent the 2020-21 season on loan with Spezia.

Then, two loan moves back to his home country followed. Agoume played for the likes of Brest and Troyes in the two seasons before this one.

During the summer, it looked virtually inevitable that Agoume would go out on loan again – or even leave Inter on a permanent basis.

But in the end, the young midfielder did not accept any offers. Therefore, he remained at Inter.

But Agoume has made just one appearance so far this season – a handful of minutes off the bench away to Salernitana in Serie A.

But Agoume will change clubs for the rest of the season.

There were a number of clubs interested in the 22-year-old’s signature.

Most prominently, Marseille tried to once against bring Agoume back to Ligue 1. They attempted to hijack Sevilla’s move for the midfield, even appearing to be the favourites to sign him at one point.

But in the end, the Andalusians won out.

Last season’s Europa League winners will bring Agoume in on a six-month loan deal.

That loan deal also contains the option to sign the Frenchman on a permanent basis.

Canal Sur confirm this, though they do not report the amount for the purchase option.

What the broadcaster do report is that Inter have a buyback option, should Sevilla decide to sign Agoume permanently. This would be for around twice the purchase option in favour of the La Liga team.
