Only Bayer Leverkusen can equal Inter Milan in terms of their points-per-game ration this season in Europe’s top five leagues.
This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
It’s not exactly hard to see that Inter have had a good start to the season.
The Nerazzurri have taken 48 points from their first nineteen matches in Serie A.
That means that Inter have faced each of the other nineteen teams in the Italian top flight. They have collected an average of 2.52 points per match.
Inter’s goal difference is also certainly impressive.
The Nerazzurri have scored 44 goals, and conceded just nine. There have been twelve clean sheets.
That means that Inter have a goal difference of +35.
That has taken Inter to the top of the table. Not, perhaps, as comfortably as they would’ve liked. Juventus have just about kept pace, just two points behind the Nerazzurri.
But in a European context, Inter have only one team ahead of them in terms of points-per-game form.
Only Bayer Leverkusen Ahead Of Inter For Points-Per-Game Statistics In Top Five European Leagues
Over in the Bundesliga, Bayer Leverkusen are the surprise league leaders.
Leverkusen have played sixteen matches so far, and they have amassed 42 points.
This has meant that the German league leaders have collected 2.62 points per game. That is even closer to perfection in terms of their league form than Inter.
But as the Gazzetta notes, Leverkusen have yet to reach the halfway point of their season as Inter have.
But Germany’s dominant force Bayern Munich, have not reached that level.
Nor have any of the league leaders in Ligue 1, La Liga, and the Premier League.
Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, and Liverpool lead their respective leagues.
But none of them have taken as many points per match as Inter have.
