Inter Milan defender Francesco Acerbi believes his teammate Kristjan Asllani has great qualities but underlines the aspects that he must improve in his game.

The Albanian joined the Nerazzuri in 2022 following a breakthrough campaign at Empoli.

The 21-year-old remains an understudy for Hakan Calhanoglu in the deep-lying midfielder role.

This season, he has thus far made 10 Serie A appearances, all coming from the bench. He has, however, earned two starts in the Champions League and one in the Coppa Italia.

As for Acerbi, he recognizes the talent of his younger teammate but urges him to improve his senses.

“Aslla is annoying in the middle of the park. He is an excellent player,” said the Euro 2020 winner in his interview with Che fatica la vita da Bomber via FcInterNews.

“However, he has to improve his senses. He knows he has to evolve, he knows it very well.

“Kritjan must make the most out of his career because he has great potential. But it all depends on him.”

Asllani’s Albania will clash heads with Italy in the opening matchday of Euro 2024.

The Azzurri will also collide with Spain and Croatia. Therefore, Acerbi discusses a potential duel with Alvaro Morata whom he will also meet next month in the Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid.

“Will I have to mark Alvaro Morata? We hope to get there first. I speak with superstition. He is a strong player, he is doing well, he has traveled between strong clubs, perhaps some of the strongest in Europe.

“He is very generous, he also delivers goals. He is someone who works for the team and is a strong player. And he has already scored against us.”

The Nerazzurri defender also opened up on Croatia legend Luka Modric and a potential reunion with Marcelo Brozovic.

“Modric is a great player. He’s a phenomenon. At thirty-eight, he still makes a difference more than many others when he plays.

“Even with Croatia in the last match, he showed strong mentality and strength.

“I’d be also pleased to meet Brozovic. I’m always happy to reunite with people that I played with in the past.

“Perhaps, I won’t even say hello. No, come on, I’m just joking!”

Brozovic spent nine years at Inter before joining Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr last summer.
