Six Inter Milan players have received recognition for their impressive displays during the first half of the season, while Marko Arnautovic landed on the opposite end of the spectrum.

After reaching the halfway point of the Serie A campaign, Il Corriere della Sera (via FcInterNews) identified the best and worst performers from the first 19 rounds.

The Nerazurri, who currently sit on top of the table with 48 points, dominated the scene when it came to the best players in the league thus far.

The source picked Yann Sommer as the best goalkeeper in Serie A after collecting 12 clean sheets.

At the back, Torino’s Alessandro Buongiorno was recognized as the best defender. Nevertheless, Inter’s Francesco Acerbi and Juve’s Gleison Bremer earned honorable mentions. Roma’s Leonardo Spinazzola was the most disappointing.

Six Inter Milan Players Earn Praise For Their Serie A Displays This Season, But Marko Arnautovic Is Among The Flops

In the middle of the park, the newspaper picked Juventus star Adrien Rabiot as the best performer.

Yet, the Nerazzurri duo of Nicolo Barella and Hakan Calhanoglu still earned plaudits. The same goes for Fiorentina veteran Giacomo Bonaventura.

On the opposite, Napoli’s Regista Stanislav Lobotka is the ultimate flop in midfield. Milan’s Rade Krunic and Lazio’s Felipe Anderson also received unceremonious mentions.

In attack, Inter captain Lautaro Martinez is obviously the best performer. The Argentine is leading the league’s scoring charts with 16 goals from 17 appearances.

His partner-in-crime Marcus Thuram also received praise as one of the best foreigners in Serie A.

But on the contrary, the source picked Marko Arnautovic as the attacking flop. The Austrian only scored a single goal in Serie A since joining the Nerazzurri in the summer.

As for the coaches, Juventus manager Max Allegri was the pick of the crop, while Rudi Garcia and his successor at Napoli Walter Mazzarri get the short end of the stick.
