Leicester City boss Enzo Maresca reveals himself as a keen admirer of Inter Milan midfielder Stefano Sensi.
The Foxes appointed the Italian tactician following their relegation to the Championship at the end of last season, entrusting him with the task of bringing the club back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
Maresca is certainly on the right track, with Leicester currently leading the table with a ten-point gap over their closest chasers.
Nevertheless, the former Juventus and Sevilla midfielder is looking to bolster his ranks with a new player.
Over the past few days, circulating reports have been linking Sensi with a move to the East Midlands.
During Friday’s conference, Maresca didn’t try to deny the story. On the contrary, he admitted his admiration for the Nerazzurri player.
“I have always said the same thing regarding the transfer market. Even when you’re strong, you should aspire to become even stronger,” said the 43-year-old in his pre-match press conference ahead of tomorrow’s encounter against Coventry (via FcInterNews).
“The only thing I can say about Sensi is that I know him well. He is a player I really like. But now we are not allowed to do anything, we have to sell first.”

As Maresca explains, relegation has taken its toll on the club’s finances, limiting their spending power.
“The only thing I know is that we cannot spend money, probably due to relegation.
“In the last two or three years, the club has registered losses. Relegation is also difficult on a financial level because you have to rebuild after losing 10 or 15 players.”
For their part, Inter are reportedly requesting just 2 million euros to part ways with Sensi, since the player’s contract is due to expire in June.
