Attacking midfielder Valentin Carboni could return to Inter Milan in January if Alexis Sanchez leaves the Nerrazzurri.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInter1908.

If Inter are to make any further changes to the senior squad in the January transfer market after signing Tajon Buchanan, they will most likely be in attack.

The rumours around the Nerazzurri potentially looking for a forward have been persistent.

This is because of the underwhelming performances of Sanchez and Marko Arnautovic.

The Nerazzurri could look to bring in an attacking player to give the team more quality in the depth chart behind the two starters Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram.

But on the other hand, Tuttosport reports, there could be an alternative solution.

Valentin Carboni Could Make Early Inter Return If Alexis Sanchez Leaves

18-year-old Argentine attacking midfielder Carboni is currently on loan at Monza.

The teenager’s loan deal at the Brianzoli finishes at the end of the current season.

Carboni joined Monza last summer in search of playing time. And whilst that was in short supply at the start of the season, recent weeks have seen him break into the team.

Carboni has put in a few outstanding recent performances. These included a goal and an assist against Frosinone in a 3-2 win.

Accordingly, Tuttosport report, Inter could very well feel that Carboni is ready to make an early return.

The Nerazzurri could view the Argentine has a better option than any names on the market.

And negotiations with Monza on ending Carboni’s loan move early wouldn’t be impossible.

As Tuttosport note, the relations between the two clubs are very positive.

And Monza recently brought in Daniel Maldini on loan for the second half of the season. The AC Milan-owned player has a similar profile to Carboni.

Therefore, a return could not be ruled out.
