Referee Matteo Marchetti will be in charge of Inter Milan’s Supercoppa Italiana semifinal against Lazio.

This is confirmed by the Italian FA who announce all the officials for the semifinal round, via FCInterNews. Marco Di Bello will be on VAR for the clash.

This Friday, Inter take on Lazio in the Supercoppa Italiana.

The pair meet in the semifinal of the competition’s semifinal stage. They are last season’s Coppa Italia winners and Serie A runners-up respectively.

Meanwhile, in the other semifinal for the Supercoppa, Napoli and Lazio will face off on Thursday.

Then, the winners of the two semifinal matches will face off in the competition’s final on Monday.

Inter have won the Supercoppa in each of the previous two seasons.

The Nerazzurri beat Juventus in extra time in 2022, courtesy of a last-gasp Alexis Sanchez goal during extra time.

That match took place at the San Siro.

Then last January, Inter beat AC Milan. They beat the Rossoneri by an emphatic 3-0 scoreline in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Both of those matches were one-off matches. This time around the format of the competition has changed to a four-team mini-tournament, similar to the Spanish Super Cup.

The matches will once again take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as with last season.

Matteo Marchetti To Referee Inter Vs Lazio Clash – Marco Di Bello On VAR

The referee for Friday evening’s match will be Matteo Marchetti.

Assisting Marchetti in his duties will be Giovanni Baccini and Gamal Mokhtar.

The role of the fourth official, meanwhile, will fall to Livio Marinelli.

In the VAR booth, Marco Di Bello will oversee the match to ensure to correct any errors by the on-pitch officials.

Assisting Di Bello in his duties will be Aleandro Di Paolo.

Inter will be hoping that the focus stays on the action on the pitch rather than refereeing controversy.
