Inter Milan, Juventus, and Roma have all already shown an interest in signing 26-year-old Genoa forward Albert Gudmundsson.
This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, via FCInter1908.
So far this season, Gudmundsson has been one of the major breakout talents in Serie A.
The Icelandic international is not new to the division. He had in fact joined Genoa during the summer of 2021.
That season, the Rossoblu were still a top flight team.
However, in the 2021-22 season, Genoa suffered relegation to Serie B.
Gudmundsson stayed in Liguria for a season in the second division. And he helped Genoa to achieve promotion back to Serie A.
And now, back in the top flight, Gundmundsson has shone.
Inter, Juventus & Roma Keen On Genoa Forward Albert Gudmundsson
Gundmundsson has been a key player in helping Genoa to establish a solid foothold in the Serie A midtable in their first season back in the league.
The Icelander’s technical ability in tight spaces and mobility playing behind a centre-forward have made him the Grifone’s star man in terms of end product in the final third.
So far this season, Gudmundsson has scored eight goals in Serie A. He has also assisted an additional two.
And this has not escaped the notice of some of the league’s biggest sides.
According to Di Marzio, Genoa have already turned down some initial offers for Gudmundsson.
The Sky transfer expert reports that the likes of Inter, Roma, and Juventus have all already made contact with the newly-promoted side about possibly signing the 26-year-old.
And as far as a January transfer, there would be little chance.
Genoa have made very clear to those interested that Gudmundsson will not be for sale this month.
But Di Marzio anticipates that clubs will resume their interest in signing the Genoa forward in the summer.
