Simone Inzaghi is anticipating a three-horse race for the Serie A title between Inter Milan, Juventus, and AC Milan.
The Nerazzurri coach spoke to reporters whilst at FIFA’s “The Best” ceremony in London, via FCInterNews, also giving his thoughts ahead of the upcoming Supercoppa Italiana.
The common consensus seems to be that the Serie A title is currently between Inter and Juventus.
After all, in recent weeks, it has generally been just two points separating the Nerazzurri and the Bianconeri at the top of the table.
If Juventus can beat Sassuolo this evening, that will be the case once again.
And teams like Napoli, Roma, and Lazio would certainly appear to be too far behind to realistically catch up.
But there is one team who are still in striking distance.
AC Milan had fallen out of the title talk due to some poor results in the fall. But they are nine points behind Inter, and for the time being at least, just four behind Juventus.
Moreover, the Rossoneri are in good form. They got a statement win over Roma on Sunday evening.
Inzaghi Predicts Three-Horse Race: Inter, Juventus & AC Milan
Of Inter’s form in the league, Inzaghi said that “We’ve had twenty great matches. We’ve got 51 points.”
“But we have to keep up the pace, because there are strong teams who want to win the title just as Inter do.”
The Nerazzurri coach predicted that “It will be a battle right until the end with Juve and Milan.”
And Inzaghi also gave his thoughts ahead of the upcoming Supercoppa Italiana match.
“We’re the holders of that title,” the Inter coach.
“We’ll go to Riyadh for this new format of the competition,” he continued.
The coach admitted that “We don’t know exactly what to expect, because we’ve been used to a one-off final between the Serie A and Coppa Italia winners.”
“But it’s a new format that we’ll try to honour as much as possible,” he said.
