Former Roma midfielder Stefano Impallomeni feels that Inter Milan midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan is an “extraordinary” player.

The ex-player spoke to Italian broadcaster TMW Radio, via FCInter1908.

When Mkhitaryan joined Inter from Roma in the summer of 2022, the Armenian veteran was not necessarily seen as a player who would become a key part of the starting eleven.

The 34-year-old had been an important player for Roma.

And prior to that, Mkhitaryan had played for the likws of Shakhtar Donetsk, Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United, and Arsenal.

But at Inter, there already seemed to be a fairly established midfield hierarchy.

And Mkhitaryan’s arrival on a free transfer looked more like a piece of business to strengthen the squad depth with a reliable player.

But the reality has looked quite difference.

Mkhitaryan is still one of the first names on the teamsheet for Inter.

The veteran midfielder has been the player who links midfield and attack time and again for the Nerazzurri.

And Mkhitaryan showed just how valuable he can be to the team during Saturday’s Serie A win over Monza.

Impallomeni Hails “Extraordinary” Inter Midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan

Impallomeni called Mkhitaryan an “Extraordinary player who’s enjoying a kind of second youth.”

“He had an extraordinary match against Monza,” the journalist added.

Mkhitaryan was not on the scoresheet against Monza.

However, the veteran midfielder showed all of his guile and creativity with his incisive forward passes that set up most of the team’s most dangerous attacks.

Mkhitaryan also played the full ninety minutes.

Even with his 35th birthday just around the corner, Mkhitaryan has hardly lost any of his energy and stamina.

The former Giallorossi man has been an important defensive presence in addition to his attacking value.

Mkhitaryan recently extended his contract with Inter until the end of June 2026.
