Beppe Marotta feels that when he initially moved from Juventus to Inter Milan, fans saw him as an “intruder.”

The Nerazzurri executive spoke on the Fedez “Wolf” podcast, via Gazzetta.it, reflecting on how he did eventually win over the Inter faithful.

Marotta has now been at the helm of Inter for over five years.

The 66-year-old is also under contract with the Nerazzurri until the end of June 2027. Therefore, he will likely continue guiding the club in the transfer market for at least a few more years.

Marotta arrived towards the end of 2018.

This swiftly followed the veteran executive’s departure from Juventus.

Marotta, who had been building his reputation for decades prior to arriving in Turin, had taken over at the Bianconeri in 2010.

And in nearly a decade at the club, Marotta ushered in an era of huge success.

Juventus won seven Serie A titles, five Coppa Italia titles, and reached the Champions League final twice with Marotta.

And they did so whilst staying within their financial means.

Marotta: Initially Seen As An Intruder After Move From Juventus To Inter

Naturally, it was strange to see a man who had done such good work at Juventus moving to the Nerazzurri’s bitter rivals Juventus.

But Marotta has done a similarly exemplary job at the Nerazzurri.

Inter have had even tighter financial constraints to work within than the Bianconeri had when Marotta was there.

But seemingly every time the transfer window comes around, Marotta finds a way.

“When I arrived at Inter, maybe the fans saw me like an intruder or even worse,” Marotta said.

“Considering I came from Juventus.”

“In sport, however, results are what count,” the veteran executive continued.

“And, thanks to merit and luck, since I arrived at Inter, good results have come.”

“So now I think that a good part of the fanbase has come around to me,” Marotta said.
