Veteran forward Alexis Sanchez still believes that he can have his say at Inter Milan over the second half of the season.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that limited playing time hasn’t deterred the Chilean.

When Sanchez re-joined Inter last summer, it was always clear that he was coming in as a squad player.

With Lautaro Martinez already the team’s star man in attack and Marcus Thuram also arriving, Sanchez was a player Inter signed to add some experience and proven quality.

The 34-year-old knew the surroundings well, having spent three years as an Inter player previously.

And there had been plenty of positive moments for Sanchez the first go around.

The former Arsenal, Manchester United, and Barcelona forward had made 109 appearances and scored twenty goals during the 2019-20, 2020-21, and 2021-22 seasons.

And in his season away at Marseille, Sanchez had bagged an eye-watering eighteen goals.

Alexis Sanchez Still Convinced He Can Have His Say At Inter

There were also some troubles for Sanchez at Inter, though.

Particularly in his final season, the Chilean had a couple social media outbursts about his lack of playing time.

Sanchez admitted that he felt “like a lion in a cage” when he didn’t play after he netted a memorable late winner against Juventus in the 2022 Supercoppa Italiana.

That precedent might mean one or two suggestions that it would be the same story this time around.

Sanchez is a relatively peripheral figure in the team.

The 34-year-old has yet to score in Serie A. He’s found the back of the net twice in the Champions League.

But according to the Corriere, Sanchez is taking a more patient approach now.

The Chilean believes that his time will come. And he is determined to wait for it.

And there’s no doubt that Sanchez will have his prior heroics in the Supercoppa in mind now that Inter are once again vying for that title.
