Inter Milan defender Matteo Darmian enjoys his team’s rampant win over Lazio in the Super Cup semis and looks forward to the final against Napoli.

The Nerazzurri coasted to Monday’s finale on the back of a commanding display against the Biancocelesti who offered little resistance.

Simone Inzaghi’s men could have scored a dozen goals but ended the night with three courtesy of Marcus Thuram, Hakan Calhanoglu (from the spot) and Davide Frattesi.

For his part, Matteo Darmian got the nod at right wingback at the expense of Denzel Dumfries.

The 34-year-old certainly didn’t disappoint, putting up a convincing shift on the flank.

After the match, the former Manchester United man expressed his satisfaction with the team’s overall performance.

“We played a good match, with the right desire to win,” said the versatile defender in his post-match interview with Sport Mediaset via FcInterNews.

“Lazio have quality and we knew it, but today we delivered a good display and deserved to reach the final.”

“Their four-man backline is very tight and by stretching the play, we knew we would put them in difficulty.

“Beyond the tactical aspect, we played a great match on a technical level. We also had the right attitude.”

Inter Milan Defender Matteo Darmian Is Satisfied With The Team’s Display Vs Lazio

Darmian insists that Napoli are a dangerous opponent. However, he and his teammates will be looking to keep the Super Cup trophy at Appiano Gentile for the third year running.

“Winning helps boost our confidence. We are convinced of our capabilities but it will be a difficult match.

“Napoli showed their strength last year. They are a team that we must fear and we will certainly respect them.

“We will try to take to the field with the desire to bring the trophy home.”
