Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi feels that the Nerazzurri did very well to restrict a strong Lazio team in the Supercoppa Italiana.
The Italian international spoke to InterTV, via FCInterNews, after yesterday’s 3-0 win over the Biancocelesti.
Inter made a statement with their victory against Lazio yesterday.
Naturally, the margin of victory was a big part of this.
And 3-0 arguably didn’t even fully reflect Inter’s dominance. The Nerazzurri created several good chances that they didn’t score, hitting the frame of the goal twice.
And then there is the fact that Inter were up against a team as strong as Lazio.
The Biancocelesti are currently sixth in the Serie A table, and just a point off of fourth spot.
Moreover, Maurizio Sarri’s team have won five matches in a row in all competitions.
But Inter made light work of their opposition. Lazio’s strong defensive record meant little as Inter overran them, and at the other end the Nerazzurri did not allow the Biancocelesti to play their attacking football.
Davide Frattesi Happy With How Inter Prevented Lazio From Playing Their Game
“It was a great match that we got off to the right start,” Frattesi said.
“We didn’t allow them to play their game.”
The 24-year-old continued that “Now we’re focusing on Napoli. We want to live the trophy.”
Frattesi said that “I feel like I’ve grown compared to the start of the season.”
“It’s never easy to fit into a team that’s already been established for several years,” the former Sassuolo midfielder noted.
“So I feel like we’re two steps ahead compared to when I started.”
“One of the great qualities of this team is that it knows how to deliver the killer blow,” Frattesi said.
“That’s an important quality in any team that wants to go far in all competitions,” he added.
