Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram continued to add to his big match credentials with his goal against Lazio yesterday.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Thuram’s goal against Lazio yesterday was not the first time that the 26-year-old has scored against that particular opposition.

And in fact, the memory of the last time that he did so was still relatively fresh.

Thuram had also scored against the Biancocelesti in last month’s league meeting.

And Lazio are far from the only top side that Thuram has scored against.

The Frenchman has also found the back of the net against Roma, Fiorentina, Napoli, and AC Milan in Serie A.

And in the Champions League, Thuram scored the decisive goal in a win against Benfica.

Marcus Thuram Furbishes Big Match Credentials Vs Benfica

Clearly, Thuram is not a striker who “flat-track bullies” the smaller teams in Serie A and then fails to make an impact on larger stages.

Moreover, the Corriere note, Inter have also frequently relied on Thuram to score the goals that have won them matches.

Yesterday was the fifth occasion in which Thuram has scored to break the deadlock in a goalless match.

Against Roma and Benfica, the 26-year-old’s goals were the difference in narrow 1-0 wins.

Thuram is making a habit of scoring at just the right time.

And this is certainly a quality that Inter will hope remains over the second half of the season.

The Nerazzurri are now in the knockout rounds of the Champions League. Starting with a round of sixteen tie against a formidable Atletico Madrid team.

And then in the league, the Nerazzurri face Juventus – one team Thuram failed to score against so far – in a top-of-the-table clash in a couple weeks.

Clearly, if the Frenchman can keep coming up with goals in the biggest matches, it could power Inter to a memorable end to the season.
