Inter Milan are ready to rival Barcelona for the signature of young Sweden and Djugardens midfielder Lucas Bergvall.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, via FCInterNews, who reported on air that the Nerazzurri are thinking about making an offer as the teenager’s club want at least €15 million.

17-year-old midfielder Bergvall has emerged as a standout player in his age bracket in Europe in recent months.

Turning eighteen at the start of next month, the Swede has already taken significant steps within senior football for Djurgardens.

Bergvall has also starred for the Swedish national team at youth team level. He currently plays for the Under-21 side.

The teenage midfielder possesses a combination of height, strength, and technical quality on the ball that has made him adept in the midfield battle despite his relatively young age.

A key strength of Bergvall’s is his tendency to pick his head up and make decisive passes and runs on the counterattack.

Inter Rival Barcelona For Sweden Midfielder Lucas Bergvall

Not very surprisingly, Bergvall’s form has attracted a fair bit of transfer interest.

This has come from some of Europe’s biggest names.

Inter have been tracking Bergvall for a number of months. The Nerazzurri see the Swede as a major option for their future of their midfield.

But the Nerazzurri are not the only admirers the 17-year-old has in Europe. Not by far.

Borussia Dortmund are also suitors of Bergvall.

But it is Barcelona who have been pushing hardest for the young Swede’s signature in recent weeks.

Di Marzio confirms that the Blaugranas made an offer to Djugardens worth around €10 million.

However, the Swedish club are holding out for more. They want at least €15 million for the midfielder.

And according to Di Marzio, Inter are seriously considering getting back into the race for Bergvall.

They would aim to sign the Swede next summer rather than this month.
