Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni is ready to return to training today, and should be in the squad to face Fiorentina next Sunday.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Batoni did not play in Inter’s Supercoppa Italiana win over Napoli earlier this week.

The 24-year-old was on the bench for that match. But he did not feature as a substitute.

Reports suggest that Bastoni had been suffering from some soreness in his thigh after having played in the semifinal match against Lazio last Friday.

Bastoni had started that match against the Bianconelesti, a 3-0 win. But he came off during the second half.

And so Inter coach Simone Inzaghi did not risk the Italian international against the Partenopei.

Alessandro Bastoni Ready To Return To Training – Should Be Fit For Fiorentina Vs Inter Clash

The Gazzetta note that yesterday Bastoni was still not yet back in full training.

The former Parma and Atalanta defender worked individually to recovery his fitness and put his muscle problem with him rather than training with the rest of the squad.

That has raised some doubts about whether Bastoni will be ready for this weekend’s match.

Inter travel to Tuscany to face Fiorentina on Sunday evening.

Bastoni could be rested for that match. This would be in view of having the 24-year-old ready for the match against title rivals Juventus the following weekend.

But according to the Gazzetta, Bastoni should in fact be ready.

The Italian international is back in full training with the rest of the group today.

That does not mean, however, that Bastoni will be ready to start against La Viola.

Inter coach Inzaghi could of course opt to keep the 24-year-old on the bench, at least from the start of the match, in order to preserve his fitness for Juventus.
