Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis hardly censored his words when describing the agent of Inter Milan primary target Piotr Zielinski.

The Polish international is in his final contractual year and doesn’t appear too keen on penning a renewal with the Partenopei.

Therefore, the two parties could be heading towards the end of a collaboration that dates back to the summer of 2016.

In the meantime, Inter emerged as the ultimate favorites to lure the 29-year-old, offering him a three-year contract with an option for a fourth.

The Nerazzurri’s pursuit of Zielinski is no longer a hidden secret, with some claiming that the two parties have reached a final agreement.

Therefore, De Laurentiis spoke freely on the matter while berating the player’s agent.

The volatile patron claims that Inter’s offer for the midfielder didn’t exceed Napoli’s. Nevertheless, he accuses his agent of greed, suggesting that the latter is pushing his client towards Milano so he can collect a hefty commission.

“Zielinski is an excellent footballer and a great lad,” noted the Napoli owner in a chat with the press via FcInter1908.

“He spent eight years at Napoli. I believe that certain stories of great sympathy and great love ought to end at a certain point.

“If he wants to stay, we are here to embrace him. But if he wants to leave because he has an agent who smells the stink of money, there’s little we can do.

“He [the agent] is imagining getting a nice biscuit to dip in the milky coffee and would have convinced the player.

“However, Zielinski would get a much higher salary than what Inter is reportedly offering.”

De Laurentiis also revealed a light-hearted conversation with Inter CEO Beppe Marotta on the matter.

“I told Marotta ‘You’re not behaving well’ with a smile. But he was quick to deny it…”
