Alessandro Bastoni remains a doubt to start for Inter Milan against Fiorentina, whilst Davide Frattesi and Kristjan Asllani will certainly start.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Bastoni’s fitness is one of the lingering questions for Inter ahead of tomorrow’s Serie A match against Fiorentina.
The Italian international had been on the bench against Napoli in the Supercoppa Italiana final.
However, Bastoni did not appear in that match. This was due to a muscle problem that he had picked up in the Supercoppa semifinal.
Bastoni had started against Lazio in the Supercoppa, but come off midway through the second half.
And there are still doubts about the 24-year-old’s fitness.
It is quite possible that Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will decide to keep Bastoni on the shelf in view of next weekend’s massive head-to-head match against Juventus.
So it is likely that Bastoni will be on the bench tomorrow at the Stadio Artemio Franchi. But as far as a start against La Viola, that would be much less likely.
Therefore, Francesco Acerbi will likely start on the left of the back three. Stefan de Vrij will play in the middle of the backline, and Benjamin Pavard on the right.
Bastoni A Doubt Vs Fiorentina – But Frattesi & Asllani Will Certainly Start
In midfield, there are few doubts about who the starting trio will be for Inter tomorrow.
Reliable veteran Henrikh Mkhitaryan will start.
But neither of the other two usual members of the Nerazzurri’s starting midfield will be available.
Both of Nicolo Barella and Hakan Calhanoglu will be unavailable due to suspension.
Therefore, former Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi and former Empoli midfielder Kristjan Asllani will take their places respectively.
The Corriere’s complete predicted Inter eleven is as follows:
Inter (3-5-2): Sommer; Pavard, De Vrij, Acerbi; Darmian, Frattesi, Asllani, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Thuram, Lautaro.
