Juventus coach Max Allegri continues to see Inter Milan as the favourites for the Serie A title.

The Bianconeri boss spoke to Italian broadcaster DAZN after his team’s surprise draw against Empoli, via FCInterNews, looking ahead to next Sunday’s head-to-head clash with the Nerazzurri.

Inter and Juventus will go head-to-head one week from tomorrow.

One way or the other, there will not be more than a point or two separating the two teams at the top of the Serie A table when that match kicks off.

Juventus slipped up today, dropping two points against Empoli at home.

This gives Inter the opportunity to go back ahead of the Bianconeri if they are to beat Fiorentina tomorrow. And then that would be with a game in hand to boot.

But beating, or even getting anything out of, tomorrow’s match away to La Viola is hardly something that Inter can take for granted.

And the game in hand – against Atalanta – will certainly not be easy either.

So there remains the sense that next Sunday’s match between Inter and Juventus has all the potential to set the tone for the remaining months of the title race.

But for his part, Allegri feels that it is Inter who will remain the favourites in any event.

Juventus Coach Allegri: Inter Still Favourites For Serie A Title

Allegri looked ahead to next weekend’s match at the San Siro.

“It will be a brilliant match as always,” the Juventus coach said.

“Beautiful to play. In a full stadium.”

Allegri insisted that “We want to go there and play a good match against the strongest team in the league, the team who are favourites to win the title.”

And the Juventus coach also gave his thoughts on his team’s surprise draw against Empoli.

“The team played a good match,” Allegri argued.

“Even with ten men we tried to win,” he said.

The Bianconeri coach reflected that “This is football. You can’t win all the time.”

“The guys played a good match. The sending-off made things complicated as far as our plans.”

“And congratulations to Empoli in any event,” Allegri said.
