Inter Milan are keeping their focus on themselves and away from the noise and controversy ahead of their Serie A clash with Juventus.

This stoic approach is highlighted in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.

The Derby d’Italia between Inter and Juventus is never a fixture that controversy stays too far away from.

And naturally the fact that the Nerazzurri and the Bianconeri are competing directly for the Serie A title this season means that the stakes of the match will be all the higher.

So perhaps it was inevitable that the atmosphere around the match would be what it is.

Refereeing controversy has become a topic even weeks before the match. This seems to be something that the Italian sports press are attempting to force.

And Bianconeri coach Max Allegri has seemingly taunted Inter with a few coy barbs in his recent statements.

Inter Focusing On Themselves & Not The Noise Ahead Of Juventus Showdown

The risk for Inter would be that the mood ahead of Sunday’s match could become downright toxic.

Each week seems to bring new sources of pressure and controversy.

For some teams, this might be a motivation. The idea of “responding to criticism” on the pitch with performances and result.

But that has never really been the style of Inter under Simone Inzaghi.

The 47-year-old has guided Inter through some periods of imperious form. And he has had to get the team out of some deep holes as well.

Through it all, Inter’s coach has focused calmness and not succumbing to distraction.

And that appears to be the Nerazzurri’s stance in view of Sunday’s match against Juventus.

The team will work to be at their best in that match without needing any extra motivation.

The noise will undoubtedly continue whatever Inter do. But the team will work as though it’s not there.
