Midfielder Stefano Sensi will likely stay at Inter Milan for the rest of the season after his transfer to Leicester City collapsed.
This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it. However, the Gazzetta note, the 28-year-old could still make a surprise move to the Turkish Super Lig.
Sensi had been linked with Championship side Leicester City for much of the January transfer window.
And in fact, the Italian international even travelled to England to complete his medicals. And he did pass the medicals.
However, the move fell through at the eleventh hour.
The reason for this was that Leicester were unable to complete the deal within financial restrictions.

According to the Gazzetta, Sensi is now back in training with the Inter squad.
The former Sassuolo, Sampdoria, and Monza midfielder will in fact be part of the Nerazzurri’s squad for tomorrow evening’s Derby d’Italia clash with title rivals Juventus in Serie A.
It seems a virtual certainty that Sensi will continue to have a peripheral role in the team for the rest of the season.
So far this campaign, the 28-year-old has made just four appearances for Inter.
All of these were cameo appearances from the bench, and none were starts.
However, the Gazzetta reports, there would be one other possibility.
The Turkish transfer window is still open, unlike most other European transfer windows.
Therefore, there would still be a slight opening for a surprise transfer for Sensi.
This would allow the Italian to receive much more playing time than he almost certainly would were he to stay at Inter for the rest of the campaign.
However, the Gazzetta anticipates, that would not be the most likely outcome.
Rather, the newspaper report, there is no movement as far as a possible transfer of Sensi to Turkey or any other league.
The 28-year-old will almost certainly just stay at Inter for the rest of the season.
Then, at the end of June, Sensi’s contract with the Nerazzurri will expire. And there is very little question that the Italian will then leave and choose which club to join next.
