Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi is suffering from some minor muscular fatigue, which is why he didn’t play against Juventus.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. Sky report that the 24-year-old will not be requiring any medical tests, however.

One Inter player who didn’t get onto the pitch in yesterday’s win over Juventus was Frattesi.

Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi opted for former Ajax midfielder Davy Klasseen rather than Frattesi when he went to his bench to replace the exhausted Nicolo Barella.

After the match, Inzaghi explained the reason for his choice of substitution.

The Inter coach said that he didn’t use Frattesi because the former Sassuolo midfielder had not been feeling at his best in the warmup.

There was little alarm from Inzaghi. But he made clear that he didn’t see Frattesi as being fit enough to play yesterday.

Inter Midfielder Davide Frattesi Suffers Minor Muscular Fatigue

And according to Sky, it is indeed the case that Frattesi has suffered a bit of muscular fatigue.

There is no serious injury. But the Italian international has noted some pain, which continues to be evident today.

Sky report that the club have not scheduled any medical tests for Frattesi, however.

The broadcaster anticipate that the 24-year-old will participate in tomorrow’s training session with the rest of the squad.

There, Frattesi will be under observation to see whether his condition has improved, or if he continues to have a muscular problem.

Naturally, the fitness of Frattesi will be important over the next few weeks and months.

Inter’s schedule will become quite hectic once Champions League fixtures return.

Therefore, it is not likely that the usual trio of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Nicolo Barella, and Hakan Calhanoglu will be able to start every match.

As such, Inzaghi will certainly hope to call on Frattesi in the coming matches.
