Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi feels that his team barely conceded anything in yesterday’s Serie A win over Juventus.

The Nerazzurri boss spoke to InterTV after the match, via FCInterNews. He emphasized how over 95 minutes of play, Inter allowed just one dangerous Bianconeri counterattack.

Inter did have one big scare in the first half of yesterday’s match.

Juventus had what looked to be a golden opportunity inside the Nerazzurri’s penalty area. It came from a Weston McKennie run through midfield during a lighting counterattack.

The American got the ball to the feet of Bianconeri striker Dusan Vlahovic.

However, Vlahovic’s first touch let him down badly, and he was not able to get the ball under control.

With that, a chance for Juventus to take the lead against the run of play passed.

That is the kind of chance that the Bianconeri had fashioned time and time again in both matches last season where they beat Inter in the league.

But this time around, Inter did much better to keep their Serie A rivals at arm’s length.

Inter Coach Simone Inzaghi: Conceded Just One Counter To Juventus In 95 Minutes

After the match, Nerazzurri coach Inzaghi said that “We were always on point.”

“We played 95 minutes with focus and a lot of technical ability.”

“We were up against a team with great players on the counterattack. But we only allowed one counter.”

“It was difficult,” the Inter coach added. “We had to move the ball well, take up different positions. The guys did very well.”

Inzaghi added that “We needed to play with a lot of concentration.”

“In the reverse fixture, they had played with one kind of buildup play, but this time they did so differently.”

“But we anticipated that,” the Nerazzurri coach added.

“The guys always stayed switched-on, and I’m happy,” Inzaghi concluded.
