The touchline ban for Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi has been confirmed for Saturday’s Serie A match between Roma and Inter Milan.

The Sporting Justice in Italy has confirmed the suspension for the Inter coach after his booking in last weekend’s Serie A match against Juventus, via FCInterNews.

The Derby d’Italia between Inter and Juventus is always one of Italian football’s most heated matches.

This most recent edition never quite reached a fever match.

There were a few minor flashpoint incidents. However, both sets of players and coaching staff largely held their emotions in check by the standards of the fixture.

There were of course a few incidents of note.

Bianconeri captain Danilo, for example, received a booking for a tactical foul in midfield. The Brazilian had received his fifth yellow card of the season, so will sit out his team’s match through a one-match ban.

And on the Inter bench, there was a very notable suspension as well.

Inter coach Inzaghi also went into the book during the second half of Sunday’s match.

With Inter leading by a 1-0 scoreline, the Nerazzurri coach was gesticulating wildly as he aimed to help his team see out the advantage.

Inzaghi’s over-the-top gestures boiled over. This saw the Inter coach go into the book.

And, like with Juventus captain Danilo, this was the fifth booking of the season for Inzaghi.

Therefore, the 47-year-old will have to sit in the stands for next Saturday’s trip to the Italian capital to face Roma.

Meanwhile, the Sporting Justice also confirm fines of €10,000 for both Inter and Juventus.

These fines are the result of an incident in the stands during Sunday’s match.

There were some smoke bombs as well as bottles thrown by supporters of both the Nerazzurri and the Bianconeri.
