Italy international Andrea Colpani is playing it close to the chest regarding Inter Milan links, as he continues to focus on Monza.

Speaking to reporters, via FCInter1908, the 24-year-old gave his thoughts on his future, also praising Nerazzurri-owned teenager Valentin Carboni.

This season, Colpani has been one of the outstanding young talents in Serie A.

The young Monza man has scored seven goals and assisted another one so far.

This has seen Colpani mark himself out as a key player for the Brianzoli as they’ve secured a comfortable midtable place for themselves.

It has also been enough to earn the 24-year-old his first call-ups for the senior Italian national team.

And the interest from big clubs in Serie A has not been far behind. A number of teams in the Italian top flight reportedly see Colpani as a target.

Inter have been one of the main names as far as big clubs reportedly hoping to bring the Azzurri star in, possibly as soon as this upcoming summer transfer window.

But as far as the player himself is concerned, the present is most important. Colpani is not getting ahead of himself thinking about links to teams other than Monza.

Colpani: Not Thinking About Inter Links, Focus On Monza Then See What Happens

As far as links to Inter go, Colpani said that “I’ve answered that question before.”

“I focus on Monza, and then whatever happens happens.”

“Of course it’s great to be linked with teams like that,” the 24-year-old continued.

“But you have to be able to keep your feet on the ground without letting these things go to your head.”

Colpani made clear that “I’m thinking about Monza, then we’ll see what happens.”

And the 24-year-old also had words of praise for an Inter-owned teammate at the Brianzoli.

“Valentin Carboni is a great player,” he said.

“He has physical and technical quality. He can beat his man. He can shoot on target.”

“He’s a complete player,” Colpani said of Carboni.

“He’s still young. He lacks a bit of experience.”

“But there’s no doubt that if he keeps going the way he has been, he’ll reach a high level.”
