Inter Milan assistant coach Massimiliano Farris feels that Roma have made a big tactical transformation under Daniele De Rossi.

Farris spoke to Italian broadcaster DAZN, via FCInterNews, ahead of this evening’s Serie A match against the Giallorossi at the Stadio Olimpico.

Up until a couple weeks ago, it looked as though Jose Mourinho and Simone Inzaghi would be on opposite sides of the bench at the Olimpico this evening.

But in the meantime, quite a lot has happened.

For one thing, Mourinho is no longer Roma coach. The club from the Italian capital sacked the Portuguese tactician after a run of bad results and an increasingly toxic atmosphere.

It is De Rossi who has taken Mourinho’s place.

Roma decided to appoint the legendary former midfielder to try and instill the team’s traditional identity.

And for Inter, coach Inzaghi will not be on the touchline this evening.

The reason is a one-match suspension that the 47-year-old picked up for an accumulation of yellow cards.

This after Inzaghi talked himself into the book during last weekend’s Derby d’Italia win over Juventus.

Therefore, the Inter coach’s trusted assistant Farris will take charge of this evening’s match.

Inter Assistant Coach Farris: Roma A Changed Team Under De Rossi

As far as what he expects from the Giallorossi this evening, Farris said that “It seems Roma have changed.”

He continued that “De Rossi has rekindled the fire of the team.”

“The fans have never lost that. And they have great confidence.”

Farris continued that “They have won three matches in a row.”

“They’re back in the Champions League places. And they’ll give us a tough match.”

And asked whether he’s been surprised by the improving performances of midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu, Farris that that “More than a surprise, he’s a player who wants to improve every day.”

“We cup up with new solutions. Then he follows our plans.”

“And then, he puts a lot of his own ideas into it,” the Inter assistant coach added.
