Inter Milan will play the same starting eleven against Roma as against Juventus – but Simone Inzaghi will be a notable absence.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter will not be underestimating this evening’s match against Roma.

The Nerazzurri may be riding high in terms of their recent form. They have won all six of their matches so far in 2024, between Serie A and the Coppa Italia.

Moreover, Inter got one of their biggest victories yet against Juventus last weekend.

But Roma will not be a much easier test than the Bianconeri were.

The Giallorossi have found their feet under coach Daniele De Rossi following the sacking of Jose Mourinho as coach.

And it will be at the Stadio Olimpico, so certainly a tougher proposition than playing at the San Siro for Inter.

Inter To Play Same XI Vs Roma As Vs Juventus – But No Simone Inzaghi

Inter have had a full week to prepare for this evening’s match, and rest key players from last Sunday’s exertions against Juventus.

So according to the Corriere, Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi has no intention of making any changes to the team.

The 47-year-old will back his “first choice” starting eleven to once again get a big result.

But Inzaghi himself will not be on the bench for this evening’s match.

The Inter coach talked himself into the book in the second half of last Sunday’s match against Juventus.

And since that was Inzaghi’s fifth yellow card of the season, he will serve out a one-match suspension.

The Inter coach, who called the Olimpico his home for more than five years as Lazio coach, and far longer as a player for the Biancocelesti, will be forced to observe the match from the stands.

That means that Inzaghi’s trusted assisted Massimilano Farris will guide Inter through the match.
