Simone Inzaghi has been praised for masterminding yet another big win for Inter Milan against Salernitana yesterday.

Today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, praise the coach whose tactical fingerprints were all over the 4-0 rout.

The scoreline at the San Siro yesterday was 4-0 in favour of the home side.

And in truth, it did not flatter Inter in the least.

The Nerazzurri took a total of 26 shots. Ten of them were on target.

By contrast, the Granata managed just one speculative effort across ninety minutes.

Inter had around three quarters of possession of the ball. And they used it well, largely moving the ball swiftly around in the final third.

Simone Inzaghi Lauded For Masterminding Inter Rout Vs Salernitana

Inter’s performance showed all the hallmarks of Inzaghi’s tactical ideas at their best.

One of the 47-year-old’s most important principles is having passing options available in the channels and on the flanks all the time, through positional rotations.

And that was in full display at the San Siro yesterday.

The Salernitana players could hardly keep up as Inter’s wide centre-backs Alessandro Bastoni and Benjamin Pavard constantly pushed forward and got involved in the Nerazzurri attack.

The overloads that this dynamic created with midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Nicolo Barella and wingbacks Carlos Augusto and Denzel Dumfries was a perfect illustration of how Inter turn possession into chances under Inzaghi.

As was the way that wingbacks Augusto and Dumfries got into dangerous positions constantly.

Meanwhile, defensively there was never any danger for Inter.

The Nerazzurri looked like a team who have fully absorbed the shape that their coach wants them to play in.

On the other hand Salernitana appeared every bit a team who have coach twice this season.

Therefore, the dynamic was clear. Inzaghi was once again the mastermind of a Serie A rout.
