Inter Milan goalkeeper Yann Sommer feels that playing at the San Siro gives a player “chills.”

The 35-year-old spoke to Swiss outlet Neue Zurcher Zeitung, via FCInterNews, hailing the “wonderful” atmosphere playing for the Nerazzurri. He also emphasized his hunger for success.

Sommer has really made Inter his home since his summer move from Bayern Munich.

The Swiss international had a tough task in replacing Andre Onana.

But Sommer’s reflexes and veteran experience have made him a perfect replacement for the Cameroonian.

Sommer has kept fifteen clean sheets in Serie A so far.

Some of them, like Friday’s win over Salernitana in which Sommer did not have a single save to make have not tested the veteran keeper too much.

But Sommer has made more than his share of important saves. He has proved his worth to Inter in both the league and the Champions League.

And in return, the former Borussia Monchengladbach man has gotten a “wonderful” atmosphere from playing in front of the fans at the San Siro.

Inter Keeper Yann Sommer: “San Siro Gives You Chills”

Sommer noted that “Here in Italy the passion from the fans in the crowd is extraordinary.”

“Before I moved here, I knew that Inter was a wonderful club rich in tradition.”

“And it was equally clear to me that the San Siro is legendary.”

“But when I played in front of a sold-out stadium with Inter for the first time, it was speciaI,” Sommer said.

The 35-year-oled noted that “I still get chills when we play at the San Siro.”

“Recently we beat Juventus 1-0 in the big match,” he recalled.

“The feelings, the intensity you get, it’s enormous,” Sommer said. “The love from the fans at Inter is almost boundless.”

As far as the team’s approach, Sommer said that “There are no easy games in Serie A.”

“All teams are very well organized,” the Swiss noted.

“And there’s a lot of attention to detail.”

The former Bayern man said that “Our coach leaves nothing to chance.”

“But we have opportunities to be creative in following his guidelines and tactics.”
