Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram will miss at least the next two Serie A matches against Lecce and Atalanta through injury.

Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, report that tomorrow the Frenchman will undergo medical tests. But it’s already certain that he will be out for a couple matches.

Thuram having to come off with an injury yesterday was certainly a worry for Inter.

The Frenchman started the Champions League round of sixteen first leg clash with Atletico Madrid.

However, Thuram was only able to play the first half.

Late in the half, the 26-year-old felt some pain in his thigh. And whilst he did play out the final few minutes of the half, he was substituted off at halftime. Marko Arnautovic replaced him.

Now, the big question is how long Thuram will be out with an injury.

Medical tests will be necessary to determine the recovery timeline for the Frenchman.

And according to Sky, those will take place tomorrow. The club have scheduled the tests for when Thuram’s condition settles.

Marcus Thuram Out For At Least Lecce & Atalanta Matches

One thing that does not look to be in doubt is that Thuram will miss the next two matches.

Inter’s next match is against Lecce in Serie A. That will be on Sunday, and there is certainly no hope of Thuram recovering in time for then.

And the following match is in a week. Inter face Atalanta in midweek, to make up for missing the fixture during the Supercoppa Italiana.

Once again, there would hardly be any hope of Thuram returning that soon.

But then, the question is when the 26-year-old will be able to be back in March.

Inter continue to play a packed fixture list in the league over the coming weeks.

And, in three weeks’ time, the Nerazzurri will face Atletico Madrid in the decisive second leg of their Champions League tie.

So medical tests should shed light on when Thuram can be back on the pitch.
