Betting company Betsson are ready to make Inter Milan a sizable offer worth €30 million to become the club’s main shirt sponsor.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it. The outlet note that this deal could only happen in the event that regulations in Italy change to allow gambling sponsorships in football.

Inter are weighing up their options as far as a main shirt sponsor for next season.

For the current season, US-based streaming service Paramount+ have been the club’s main shirt sponsor.

However, that partnership only lasts until the end of the campaign. And there is little chance that it will be extended beyond then.

Therefore, Inter have been actively searching for a new partnership to begin next season.

Naturally, the club’s priority is the maximize the amount of revenue they bring in from a new deal.

The partnership with Paramount is not nearly as profitable as the main shirt sponsorship deals of a number of top clubs in European football.

So Inter are aiming to find a new partnership that would see them earn something more in line with their brand as a top club, who even reached last season’s Champions League final.

Betsson Ready To Offer Inter Deal Worth 30M/Season

And according to the Gazzetta, Inter have been looking into the betting sector for a potential main shirt sponsor.

Talks with Betsson have been the most fruitful in this respect.

The Gazzetta report that the company are keen to reach an agreement with Inter. And they have made clear the size of an offer they would be ready to put on the table.

Betsson would offer somewhere around 27-30 million per season.

This would be in line with Inter’s expectations. It would take the Nerazzurri closer to what other elite European clubs earn from main shirt sponsorship deals.

However, the regulatory environment could pose a major obstacle.

At the moment, the Dignity Decree, an official policy of the Italian federal government, prohibits football clubs from having gambling companies as their main shirt sponsors.

However, the Gazzetta note, the Lega Serie A and clubs in Italian football have been lobbying to change this policy.

Therefore, if the policy were to be scrapped, there would be little standing in the way. Inter would be able to accept Betsson’s offer and take the company on as their main shirt sponsor starting next season.
